Through collaborative partnerships forged with the
Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF)
and the Asian Pacific Islander Wellness Center (APIWC)
in San Francisco, APAIT develops and implements regionally
structure and integrated capacity building systems through
technical assistance programming to national, regional
and local non-governmental organizations.
Services are broken down in three priority areas:
Priority Area #2: Design, development,
implementation and evaluation of effective HIV prevention
interventions for racial/minority individuals whose
behavior places them at risk for acquiring or transmitting
HIV and other STDs.
Examples of Priority Area #2 Capacity Building

• Effective health communication message development
• Intervention adaptation or replication
• Priority setting for interventions and target
populations
• Population-based needs assessment
• Collaboration with researchers
• Development of community-based research methods
• Developing effective staff training
Priority Area #3: Improving the capacity
of community stakeholders, including CDC-funded community
based organizations (CBOs) to build and strengthen community
infrastructure for HIV prevention.

Priority Area #4: Improving the capacity
of community based organizations (CBOs), community members,
and other HIV prevention stakeholders to effectively
participate in the HIV/ prevention community planning
process.

community planning process
– Use of data for decision making
– Public speaking and persuasion
– Group and meeting facilitation

Services are prioritized for directly funded CDC community
based organizations; however, any organizations are
welcome to access services. APAIT works with other consultants
and capacity building experts to meet your own unique
needs.
