SISTERHOOD is APAIT's women's program and we offer a variety of services targeting Asian-Pacific Islander women at risk for HIV. SISTERHOOD provides one on one counseling to help individuals reduce risk, as well as a series of fresh, exciting group workshops that will enlighten and energize attitudes about women and HIV.  We also have a Peer Health Educator program, offering the opportunity to community members interested in teaching other API women about HIV and risk-reduction strategies the chance to become certified Peer Health Educators. Additionally, SISTERHOOD can be found outreaching in the community in order to continue building public awareness. Our goals remain raising API women's consciousness of their risks for HIV and influencing behavior change.  One focus of our program is on educating and empowering Asian Pacific-Islander women to challenge gender-power imbalances and take HIV prevention into their own hands.
