WONDER WOMEN is APAIT's women's program and we offer a variety of services targeting Asian-Pacific Islander women at risk for HIV. WONDER WOMEN provides one on one counseling to help individuals reduce risk, as well as a series of fresh, exciting group workshops that will enlighten and energize attitudes about women and HIV. We also have a Peer Health Educator program, offering the opportunity to community members interested in teaching other API women about HIV and risk-reduction strategies the chance to become certified Peer Health Educators. Additionally, WONDER WOMEN can be found outreaching in the community in order to continue building public awareness. Our goals remain raising API women's consciousness of their risks for HIV and influencing behavior change. One focus of our program is on educating and empowering Asian Pacific-Islander women to challenge gender-power imbalances and take HIV prevention into their own hands.

Mission Statement
The mission of Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team (APAIT) is to positively affect the quality of life for Asian and Pacific Islanders living with or at-risk for HIV/AIDS by providing a continuum of prevention, health and social services, community leadership and advocacy to the Southern California region.
