Volunteer
Established in 1987 as a project of Asian Pacific Lesbians and Gays, Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention
Team (APAIT) provides HIV/AIDS prevention education, case management, treatment advocacy & education,
and mental health programs. Our services are designed to be culturally and linguistically appropriate
for Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities.
APAIT aims to influence Asian and Pacific Islander beliefs and values concerning HIV/AIDS and to
provide hope and support to the community.
Through our volunteers, APAIT aims to promote community involvement in the fight against AIDS.
Volunteers are an essential connection to the populations we serve: an invaluable resource of talent,
dedication, and insight.
We are proud that we have a range of opportunities for people who want to contribute to the fight
against HIV/AIDS. By sponsoring project-oriented and long-term volunteer commitments, we accommodate
our volunteers’ schedules. You can help by doing some of the following:
- Disseminating vital health information
- Assisting case managers with coordinating client resources
- Designing agency materials
- Counseling HIV-positive clients
- Providing administrative support
We also want to hear more about what you want to do and what you want to learn.
